AC Milan's hopes of securing a Champions League berth faded after they suffered a 3-2 away defeat to Juventus in the Serie A, thanks to a Hasan Salihamidzic brace. Alessandro Del Piero opened the scoring for Juve early in the first-half but his strike was cancelled out by Filippo Inzaghi on the stroke of the quarter-hour. Inzaghi scored again to hand Milan the advantage but two strikes from Salihamidzic either side of the interval gave Juventus the victory. Milan played with ten men for nearly 25 minutes after Daniele Bonera was handed a straight red card for a rash challenge on Mohamed Sissoko in the 67th minute. The Rossoneri's first loss at Juventus since 2002 dented their hopes of entering the Champions League next season. They lie fifth in the league table with 52 points, four adrift of fourth-placed Fiorentina, who can extend the gap if they beat leaders Inter Milan on Sunday. Juve Initiative Del Piero put the hosts in front after 12 minutes when he latched onto Mauro Camoranesi's deft pass inside the area. Some poor marking from Giuseppe Favalli allowed the veteran striker to send a low shot into the bottom corner past Milan keeper Zeljko Kalac.
Inzaghi brace wasn't enough Inzaghi brought Milan level just two minutes later, thanks to Kaka's neat work down the left. Brazilian playmaker Kaka shrugged off a challenge from Giorgio Chiellini before providing a low cross at the far post, leaving Inzaghi with a simple tap-in into an empty net. A smart move by Bonera helped him set-up Inzaghi as Milan went ahead in the 30th minute. The former Parma defender received Massimo Ambrosini's delightful chip inside the area to beat the offside trap. A sense of unselfishness motivated him to square for Inzaghi, who found no difficulty in notching home against his former club. Salihamidzic Heroics Bosnian midfielder Salihamidzic restored parity one minute before the break. Camoranesi dispossessed Paolo Maldini down the right before sending a curling cross to David Trezeguet, whose header was parried by Kalac before rebounding off Salihamidzic and into the net. The former Bayern Munich man sealed the victory ten minutes from time when he rose unmarked to head home Camoranesi's free-kick.
