Anderlecht playmaker Ahmed Hassan responded coolly to the maneuvering questions of the Turkish media ahead of his side's clash with Fenerbahce in the qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. The 32-year old was approached by a reporter claiming that he labeled Fenerbahce star Roberto Carlos as a player who has passed his peak. "That is football in Turkey, everyone is aiming to fuel false speculation," said Hassan in the pre-match conference. "We all know who Roberto Carlos is, he is a world class player who has achieved a lot with Brazil and Real Madrid, all I said is that one player cannot win alone." The former Besiktas midfielder was asked about his opinion in the recent clash of the Trabzonspor-Sivasspor game between Egyptian midfielder Ayman Abdul-Aziz and Israeli striker Pini Balili. "Balili? I don't recognize this name, actually, I came to talk about the Fenerbahce game, but I am sure that Abdul-Aziz did not intend to hurt anyone," cleverly replied the Egyptian skipper. Abdul-Aziz made a late challenge on Sivas' Balili in the Turkish league game on Sunday, but the case was fueled into a brawl between both teams' players, which ended up with the home fans invading the pitch. However, it was reported that Balili phoned Abdul-Aziz to burry the hatchet, as the Israeli player ensured that he understand the tackle was not malicious.
