Mohamed Abou-Treika has been ruled out of Ahli's CAF Champions League match against Zimbabwe's Highlanders due to hip pain, the Egyptian champions said on Friday. The 28-year-old playmaker pulled out of training on Thursday amid fears that he has aggravated his groin injury. Ahli assistant manager Hossam Al-Badri confirmed to FilGoal.com earlier on Thursday that Abou-Treika didn't suffer any setback but it looks like a new problem has arisen. "Ahli coach Manuel Jose opted to leave Abou-Treika out of the squad facing Highlanders due to a slight hip pain," read a statement carried by the club's official website.
Barakat in "The player will continue his rehabilitation program in order to be fit in time for Ghazl Mahalla game in the Egyptian League on March 29th." On other hand, Jose received a boost with the news that energetic midfielder Mohamed Barakat has been declared fit to take part in the game. Defending champions Ahli need to win at home if they are to reach the Champions League last 16 as the first-leg ended in a goalless draw in Zimbabwe.
