Egyptian striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' said he hopes to stay with Premiership outfit Tottenham next year. Mido, who made a rare start in Spurs' 4-0 drubbing of Fulham in the FA Cup on Sunday and dished two assists to teammate Robbie Keane, moved down the pecking order at White Harte Lane. But the hot-headed player has kept his cool so far and showed no intention of leaving the club. "I would prefer to stay at Tottenham," Mido was quoted as saying by Sky Sports on Sunday. However Mido, who turns 24 on Friday, said there has to be a mutual understanding between him, coach Martin Jol and Tottenham officials before he decides his future.
Berbatov's arrival moved Mido downthe pecking order "If I have a good finish and do well at the end of the season I will have a meeting with Martin and if he is happy, I am happy and the club are happy then I will stay, of course." The former Ajax and Marseille ace said that his situation would be no different from what it is at Tottenham, given the abundance in first rate strikers. "If I left Spurs and went to somewhere like Manchester United, they have four strikers." He even singled out French forward Louis Saha who is facing a similar problem at Old Trafford. "Louis Saha for me is one of the best strikers in England and when he came back from injury he had to wait, that is how it works," added Mido.
