Arsenal captain Thierry Henry expressed his frustration to have a goal against CSKA Moscow disallowed in their UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday. "I asked the ref what did he see and he couldn't tell me,” said Henry after Arsenal's 1-0 defeat. "It was a clear goal from me, whatever you want to say about it." The English giants were trailing their Russian hosts 1-0, courtesy of a 24th minute Daniel Carvalho strike, when Henry seemed to have landed Arsenal their share of the match points. However, Spanish referee Manuel Mejuto Gonzalez disallowed the Frenchman's 86th minute goal and doled him a yellow card. "At first I thought he'd given an offside and disallowed it," Henry told Arsenal's official website.
Henry's disallowed goal "But to say that I handled it and to give me a yellow card for handball when I didn't is wrong," said the Ballon d'Or nominee. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger echoed his countryman's frustration. "It was a goal but sometimes referees cancel good goals because they don't see things," Wenger told a news conference. "Tonight, we had a new thing because they cancelled the goal after they saw things that didn't exist. It was a very bad decision." Arsenal's defeat leaves them in second spot in their Champions League Group G, one point leaders CSKA, whom they face again in London in two weeks.
