Egypt and Strasbourg midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou may return to Egypt after his side was relegated to French League 2, the player's agent said. "Abd-Rabou may move to another European side but a return to Egypt remains a possibility as well," Samir Al-Sayed told FilGoal.com via phone from France on Friday. "He received several offers from Egyptian and European clubs but any move will be on loan because Strasbourg want to keep Abd-Rabou's contract." Abd-Rabou told FilGoal.com on Thursday that he won't return to Egypt, stressing that he will make a move out of Strasbourg but will remain in Europe. Egyptian media reported that Ahli are interested to sign Abd-Rabou who was contacted by the Egyptian Champions' marketing manager Adli Al-Keaay.
Fathi But Al-Keaay said in a televised interview late on Friday that talks have been halted after Abd-Rabou's agent announced that the 22-year-old will stay in Europe. The former Ismaili star moved to Strasbourg last summer before he was joined by Ahli's left-back Ahmed Abou-Mosallam. Meanwhile, Al-Sayed said that Ismaili and Egypt defender Ahmed Fathi won't extend the contract with his side and will be moving to Europe. Al-Sayed, who is also Fathi's agent, said the 22-year-old will move out either in the off-season or during the winter transfer window in January. Fathi has refused recently to extend his deal with Ismaili beyond 2007 when his initial contract with the club expires.
