Ahli playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika will undergo further examinations on Wednesday to know the full extent of the injury he sustained in an African Champions League clash, the club said. "The initial examination showed that Abou-Treika is suffering from a groin strain, similar to what he sustained before," medical staff president Ehab Ali said. Ali refuted rumors hinting that the Egyptian international midfielder will be sidelined for up to one month through injury. Abou-Treika limped off the pitch through injury in Ahli's goalless away draw with Guinean club Renacimiento in the first-leg of their ACL round of 16. Meanwhile, Ahli striker Osama Hosni has been declared fit to face Suez Cement in the Egyptian Premier League on Friday. Hosni was due to travel to Germany for treatment after he was suffering from a thigh injury but he looks to have recovered. "I will take part in Ahli's training on Wednesday as I do not feel pain anymore, the coaching staff will have the final word whether I will participate against Suez Cement or not," Hosni told Filgoal.com on Tuesday. On another hand, Ahli have re-opened negotiations with U.A.E side Al-Dhafra to sign full back Mohamed Abdul-Wahab on a permanent basis. "We are looking to decrease the requested $700,000 by Al-Dhafra to acquire the services of Abdul-Wahab permanently, especially that he has just a year left on his contract," Ahli spokesman Muharam Al-Ragheb said. The Egyptian international defender told Filgoal.com on Wednesday that he is waiting the outcome of the negotiations between both sides, insisting he will not play in Egypt except for Ahli.
