Ahli striker Emad Meteb was ruled out of his club's game against Al-Hodoud in the local league on Monday as he didn't fully recover form an ankle injury, the club said. Ahli manger Manuel Jose decided to leave Meteb out of the squad to give the international talisman some rest after picking up the injury on Wednesday, coach Hossam Al-Badri told FilGoal.com. International winger Mohamed Barakat and Egypt teammate Wael Gomaa were named in the squad that left for Alexandria after both were sidelined almost for a month through different injuries.
Barakat (L) Ghanaian midfielder Akwetey Mensah is also back to action after a six-month layoff with a severe knee injury that he sustained in the African Champions League in August. Amr Fathi ‘Samaka' was also called up and may appear with his side for the first time since December when he collected a knock against Arab Contractors in domestic action. According to Al-Badri, either Shady Mohamed or Hossam Ashour will start alongside Hassan Mostafa in the midfield, replacing injured Mohamed Shawki.
