Enppi were held to a goalless home draw by Ethiopian side St. George in the preliminaries of the African Champions League on Friday. Debuting Enppi dominated the game and created several scoring opportunities but failed to deliver. International striker Amr Zaki, who helped Egypt win the African Cup of Nations earlier in February, was fielded in the second-half but almost had no impact. Enppi assistant coach Mohamed Yousef told the Egyptian Television after the game that the players were affected by the two-month break of the local league before and through out the African Cup. He also said that Zaki, a key figure in Egypt's victorious campaign, didn't start the game because he needed some rest after the African action. Enppi, Egyptian Cup holders, will play the second-leg in Ethiopia in the first week in March.
