Tottenham scored a brace in the last five minutes to scrape past Portsmouth 3-1 in the Premiership on Monday. Democratic Republic of Congo striker Lomana LuaLua put the visitors ahead in the 24th minute before Tottenham skipper Ledley King headed the equalizer three minutes from the hour. Egypt striker Ahmed Hossam “Mido” put the Spurs in front from an 85th minute penalty kick and Jermain Defoe sealed the victory in the dying seconds. The win maintained Tottenham's fourth place in the Premiership table on 30 points while Portsmouth remain in 19th place with 10 points. Harry Redknapp's first match back in charge of Portsmouth seemed to be on the right track when LuaLua fired a blistering drive past Spurs keeper Paul Robinson in the 24th minute. Tottenham pushed forward and were awarded a deserved equalizer when King rose to head home from a Michael Carrick corner-kick. Just when the game seemed to be heading for a draw, Portsmouth defender Gary O'Neil handled substitute Andy Reid's free-kick inside the area. Mido stepped up to convert the resulting spot-kick in the 85th minute. Five minutes later, Defoe dealt Portsmouth the final blow when he capped a splendid solo effort before unleashing a low shot past goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown.
