The Egyptian FA has announced two lists of clubs competing for the Premier League title this season, with the kick off set for the 26th of December. As the top flight competition was poised to be resumed in December, the FA held the draw for the new league system that will comprise 22 clubs - including newly-promoted trio Ragaa, Minya and Canal. Masri, who were banned from domestic competitions in the wake of the infamous Port-Said incident back in February 2012, are set to return in Group B - which is led by Zamalek and Ismaili. Ahli will lead the way in Group A against ENPPI, Gouna, Arab Contractors, Military Production, Ittihad, MCDR, Dakhlia, Smouha, Ghazl Mahalla and Ragaa. While Group B will include Gaish, Harras Hodoud, Wadi Degla, Police Union, Petrojet, Bani Suef Telephones and Canal alongside Zamalek, Ismaili and Masri. It is well understood that Masri and Ahli have been intentionally separated to avoid any potential tension between the bitter rivals following the Port-Said massacre nearly two years ago. It remains to be seen whether fans will be allowed to attend games as the situation in Egypt still seems far from stable.
