CAIRO - The supra-constitutional principles document can't be cancelled, Egypt's Minister of Tourism Munir Fakhry Abdel-Nour has said, adding that there is no question about human rights and principles governing the Egyptian State, the official Middle East News Agency reported yesterday. Abdel-Nour, a representative of the Government in the ongoing dialogue on the supra-constitutional principles referred to as el-Selmi's Document, said that talks are being held among political parties to reach an agreement on the document. Speaking about the absence of youth representing Islamic political powers in the meeting held on Monday night at Opera House, Abdel-Nour said that only a few responded to the invitation extended by Minister of Health Amr Helmi to all political trends. The meeting attendees however differed as to whether the document is binding or just presents guiding lines. Emad Abou Ghazi, Minister of Culture said the document is not binding yet it acquires its power from the agreement of all political powers on it.One of the meeting participants suggested a popular referendum on the document in its final form. The document is expected to be subject to some amendments later in the day.
