CAIRO, July 18 , 2018 (MENA) - The spokesman for the Transport Ministry on Wednesday denied reports about a rise in rail ticket prices. In a released statement, Mohammed Ezz said that statements attributed to Minister of Transport Hisham Arafat on this score are groundless. The minister announced time and again that there will be no rise in train tickets before improving the railway service although the current fares are actually cheap when compared to the cost of running the trains, the spokesman also said. The ministry is already implementing plans for upgrading the railway service given the fact that this sector serves millions of Egyptians on daily basis, he added.
