CAIRO, June 9, 2018 (MENA) – Egyptian Ambassador in Belgrade Amr el Guwaili reviewed with Serbian Patriarch Irinej efforts that Cairo has been undertaking to revive the route of the Holy Family's journey to Egypt as a main pilgrimage destination for Christians. During their meeting, they discussed boosting cooperation, especially in the cultural and religious domains, the Foreign Ministry said in a press statement on Saturday. Guwaili urged Serbian tourists to go sight-seeing to the places where the Holy Family stayed during its journey to Egypt and also to visit the ancient Egyptian monasteries such as the Monastery of Saint Anthony, which is considered the oldest monastery in world and which lies near the Red Sea resort of Hurghada.
