CAIRO, May 30, 2018 (MENA) - Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said on Wednesday the state's strategy aims at making the electronics industry one of the main pillars of economic growth in Egypt. This came at his meeting with a delegation of electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn Group, with Communications and Information Technology Minister Yasser el Qadi attending. During the meeting, Ismail expressed Egypt's keenness on enhancing partnership with the company in the field of electronics manufacturing, taking into account the state's interest in supporting the electronics and digital transformation industry in the country. The premier posted the delegation on serious steps taken by the state within the framework of the economic reform programme to create an investment-friendly climate. He said the two sides could promote cooperation in the various domains, including electronic highway control systems, smart city systems and industrial facilities. For his part, the vice chairman of the company expressed his keenness on getting acquainted with available investment opportunities in Egypt. The two sides could cooperate in the field of electronic components manufacturing, he added.
