Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) is seeking closer cooperation with Peru in logistics and food manufacturing, Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien said on Monday after talks with Peruvian Ambassador Miguel Alemán Urteaga. The meeting, held at the SCZONE's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, explored investment opportunities in the zone's industrial and logistics areas as well as its six Mediterranean and Red Sea ports, the authority said in a statement. Gamal El-Dien said the SCZONE offers "promising prospects" across 21 sectors and highlighted the zone's model of integrating ports with industrial zones to link production with global markets. The Peruvian ambassador described the zone as a regional hub connecting continents and expressed Lima's interest in forging partnerships between Peruvian companies and the SCZONE. He pointed to food manufacturing as a priority sector, alongside cooperation in port services, logistics, and expertise exchange. The two sides also discussed ways to open new markets and boost trade between Egypt and Peru. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
