More takfiris eliminated, arrested as Operation Sinai 2018 continues

CAIRO, April 8, 2018 - Three highly dangerous takfiris were eliminated and two others were arrested in Central Sinai over the past few days as part of its Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018, the Armed Forces said in its 18th communiqué on Sunday.
One takfiri possessing amounts of money, mobile phones and amounts of cannabis was killed in North Sinai, the Armed Forces said in yesterday's communiqué, the 18th since the start of Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2108.
A total of 46 vehicles used by terrorists were also seized and destroyed while 114 unlicensed motorbikes were also destroyed, the communiqué said.
The Armed Forces destroyed 386 hideouts and warehouses that contained 16 hand grenades, a number of wireless communication devices, 8 mortar shells, food supplies, military attire and quantities of chemicals and ammunition.
Moreover, the military engineers discovered and detonated 30 explosives that were planted to target army personnel during their operations in the areas of action.
A total of 250 criminal and wanted elements and suspects were arrested and legal measures had been initiated against them, the communiqué said.
Twenty cannabis and bango farms along with amounts of other narcotics ready for smuggling were also seized in Northern and Central Sinai, the communiqué added.
