Cairo, April 1 - The security troops killed 6 takfiris and arrested 513 others in raids as part of the Sinai 2018 comprehensive operation in North and Central Sinai, the army said in its 17th communiqué on Sunday. The air forces bombed a number of takfiri targets based on solid intelligence. A total of 993 hideouts and warehouses full of wireless devices and chemicals were destroyed, the communiqué said. The security forces comprising army troops and police personnel held 600 checkpoints and patrols over the past days. A total of 19 cars were destroyed or seized and 64 motorbikes without plates were seized in the raids. The security forces found and detonated 163 explosive devices. A total of 19 automatic rifles and bombs were seized. The security forces foiled infiltration attempts of 169 foreign nationals. The security forces also demolished 84 farms of bhang in North Sinai. One officer and one soldier were killed in the raids. A warrant officer and one soldier were injured.
