Chairperson of Egypt's Healthcare Authority, Ahmed Al-Sobky, the Assistant Minister of Health and Population, General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, received on Sunday, a high-level delegation from the Secretariat of the Indonesian cabinet and the Social Health Insurance Authority, to discuss strengthening cooperation in the field of healthcare between the two countries. The Indonesian delegation included; Yuli Harsono, the Deputy Cabinet Secretariat for Human Development and Culture Affairs, Teguh Supriyadi, the Assistant Deputy Cabinet Secretariat for Health, Religion, Youth and Sports Affairs, Mundiharno, the Director of Institutional Relations of the Implementing Authority of Social Health Insurance Indonesia, and other officials. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the developments of the healthcare system in Egypt, the Egyptian experience in comprehensive health coverage, the governance of the Egyptian health system, the stages of implementing the comprehensive health insurance system, the application of the family medicine system, the facilities for providing medical care to patients, the Egyptian laws and legislation for comprehensive health coverage for citizens, and the features of the new Egyptian health system. The meeting also reviewed the results of the Indonesian delegation's visit to the health facilities in Ismailia. They also discussed aspects of enhancing cooperation and issues of common interest to exchange experiences between the two sides in the areas of universal health coverage, management and operation of health facilities, application of primary care systems, quality standards and clinical governance in hospitals, the full geographical distribution of services, facilities for patients, and improving their experience in hospitals. Receiving healthcare services, and other axes ensure the continuity of upgrading the healthcare sector in both countries.
