Published in Daily News Egypt on 02 - 02 - 2022

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat to follow up on the executive position of a number of national projects in the fields of digitisation and information technology.
Adviser to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed, Head of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Ihab Al-Far, and Director of the Major Projects Department in the Engineering Authority Ihab Abdullah also attended the meeting.
The president directed the use of the latest technologies in the establishment of various communications and digitisation projects, taking into account the established principle of governance of all aspects of performance in accordance with the highest standards of quality and sustainability, which helps enhance the efforts of digital transformation in the country.
He suggested implementing this in a manner that befits the civilised development witnessed by Egypt and its comprehensive development vision with a focus on providing the necessary technical training to raise the efficiency of human resources and prepare promising generations and cadres capable of implementing digital projects at the level of the republic.
In this context, the government officials reviewed the latest developments in the executive status of the 'Knowledge City' in the New Administrative Capital, which is being launched using the latest technological systems and with the aim of building an information society in which research and innovation in advanced technologies are supported and the investments of global technology companies are attracted.
They also reviewed the progress of work in a number of national technological projects at the state level that aim to spread a culture of creativity and discover and support innovators from students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to become active elements that contribute to achieving digital transformation in various sectors of the state.
This is most apparent in the project to establish branches of the Information Technology Institute in the Universities of Mansoura, Menoufiya, Minya, Qena, Sohag, and Aswan, as well as the project to establish the Technological Innovation Complex in Ismailia, as well as the project to establish 'Egypt Digital Creativity Centres' in Benha, Fayoum, and Port Said.
