Total of 59,455 expats in Egypt have undergone virus C screening
Move came as part of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi's ‘100 Million Health' Initiative

Egypt's Ministry of Health announced it completed screening of 59,455 expatriates in Egypt until Monday, as part of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi's ‘100 Million Health' initiative.
The highest number of nationalities that were examined included Syrians, Palestinians, and Sudanese. The screening tests and medical treatments are all free of charge for all expatriates.
the presidential initiative aims to survey children aged 12 to 18-years-old, and adults above 18, through 309 testing points distributed across the governorates, free of charge.
The initiative was officially launched on 1 May and will continue until September.
The initiative to eliminate hepatitis C and the detection of non-communicable disease (NCD) aiming to screen all Egyptian citizens.
According to the ministry's statement, the move of examining expatriates is part of Al-Sisi's orders to screen and treat refugees living in Egypt and other expats the hepatitis C virus.
