The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton gave birth to her third child, a boy, on Monday, Kensington Palace announced in a statement. The baby boy was delivered in the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in the attendance of his father, Prince William, while the rest of the family, Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Harry, were informed of the news. "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 11:01hrs.The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz," the palace tweeted. The name of the baby was not revealed until the time of publishing. However, "her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well," according to the Kensington Palace statement published in British news outlets. The third royal child became fifth in line to the throne, pushing his uncle, Harry, to sixth in line after the baby's elder brother, George, who is four years old, and Charlotte, who is two. The two elder siblings are planned to meet their younger brother Monday afternoon. Hundreds of fans gathered in front of the hospital waiting for the family's first appearance. Kensington Palace had confirmed that the new royal baby was on the way on 4 September 2017.
