CAIRO: Three swine flu related deaths were reported on Wednesday bringing the death toll in Egypt to 64, according to the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Abdel Rahman Shahin. The first is a 26-year-old woman from Cairo who passed away on Dec. 12 who suffered from Quadriplegia, the second is a two-year-old boy from Assiut who was asthmatic and the third is a 14-year-old male student who was admitted to the hospital with severe pneumonia. Minister of Health Hatem El-Gabaly is predicting that the number will reach 100 by the end of December and will even continue to rise well into January and February of next year. El-Gabaly also predicted that during the "next wave of the virus, in the coming winter months as the temperature decreases, H1N1 will be even more aggressive, he said at a conference, according to a statement by the ministry. Egypt has to date recorded a total of 4,792 swine flu cases, of which 937 were discovered only last week, according to the latest weekly swine flu report by the ministry.
