CAIRO: The final hearing of one of jailed ex-opposition leader Ayman Nour's numerous trials has been postponed to March 19.
In a court session held yesterday the defense heard that Nour will have to wait another month for the verdict.
The case, which has been running for over two years, was raised by Wahid Al-Uqsory, chairperson of the Egyptian Arab Socialist party. Al-Uqsory, who was one of the 10 presidential candidates in the 2005 elections, brought a case against Nour claiming that several pieces of verifying documentation, including his doctorate, are false. According to Nour's lawyer, Amir Salem, the dispute stems back to when Nour and Al-Uqsory were both vying for the leadership of the party. "Al-Uqsory has an old dispute with Nour, Salem told Daily News Egypt, "now he's one of the many government supporters following Nour and making ridiculous cases against him.
