DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates national airlines Emirates Air announced on Monday plans to boost its daily capacity to Kuwait and Qatar's capital Doha. According to a company press statement, there will be an increase by nearly 30 percent across both routes. The additional daily frequency to Doha will be operated by an Airbus A340-300 in a three class configuration, said a statement from Emirates. In Kuwait, the new daily frequency will be operated in both directions by a Boeing 777-300ER in a three-class configuration, Emirates Air stated. “The move to enhance the airline's daily capacity starting from August comes in line with Emirates' rapid global expansion plans,” it added. The company said that both Qatar and Kuwait will “benefit from additional daily frequency, bringing operations to Doha to six services per day and Kuwait up to five flights per day.” With six flights per day, Doha has the highest number of daily frequencies in the Middle East region, followed by Kuwait, it stated. Both cities play a key role in the region's business growth, attracting international investors and facilitating global trade. With a total of 46,430 seats available for inbound and outbound booking each week, across the two markets, these additional daily flights are well timed to support the countries accelerated trade and tourism growth. “These additional frequencies have been added to accommodate increasing demand from our customers. Both Doha and Kuwait are extremely viable markets for Emirates and there is a clear indication that they will continue to grow exponentially in the coming years,” said Ahmed Khoory, Emirates' senior VP Commercial Operations, Gulf, Middle East and Iran. “The Middle East is one of the most active aviation markets in the world and these additional daily frequencies, to two of the region's key destinations, will provide even more convenient connections to onward travel through our international hub of Dubai,” he added.
