AL-AINs 10th anniversary ABU DHABI Tourism Authority (ADTA) has confirmed that the Al-Ain Aerobatic Show "ï the Oasis City's annual aerobatics display held under the patronage of Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces "ï will be held 30 November "" 2 December 2012 at Al Ain International Airport. "This new schedule will give UAE residents and international visitors the chance to travel to Al-Ain for a long weekend break taking in the show and the other attractions in this city, which has just been made a UNESCO Heritage Site for its rich archaeological and historic treasures," said Faisal Al Sheikh, Events Manager, ADTA. BA "Flying Start' BRITISH Airways announced that it has raised over £1.3million through its global charity partner Comic Relief. The fundraising partnership is known as Flying Start, and aims to transform the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the UK and around the world. Thousands of colleagues from British Airways have been engaged in fundraising over the past twelve months, including the Red Nose Day campaign. This includes setting a Guinness World Record for hosting the highest stand-up comedy gig in the world at 35,000ft with Dara O'Briain, Jack Whitehall and Jon Richardson performing live on-board. The airline's team of fun-raisers have visited projects in London, Manchester, Kenya and Cape Town to see first hand how the money raised helps to improve the lives of children. The airline supports both Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, which are hosted by Comic Relief in alternate years. QA to Medinah QATAR Airways has launched a fourth destination in the KSA with four-flights-a-week to the holy city of Medina. The new route, non-stop from Doha, increases Qatar Airways' capacity to Saudi Arabia to 60 flights a week, representing a significant increase in frequency to the country from 35 flights just a few weeks ago. The carrier recently boosted capacity to Saudi Arabia with 14 weekly flights to the capital Riyadh, 14 weekly flights to the Red Sea port city of Jeddah, and 28 weekly flights to the key commercial hub of Dammam. The new route uses an Airbus A320 in a two-class configuration of 12 seats in first class and 132 in economy. Medina is known as the second holiest city after Mecca, a place visited by Muslims from around the world. Medina also becomes the ninth new route launched by Qatar Airways so far this year. Flydubai daily to Dammam LOW COST carrier flydubai has launched operations to Saudi Arabian city of Dammam. flydubai CEO Ghaith Al-Ghaith said: "With the launch of this route we hope to further strengthen bilateral trade relations between the two countries and open up new areas of partnership." Saudi Arabia also has one of the region's most dynamic travel markets driven by domestic tourism in addition to international business and religious tourism. Visitor numbers are forecast to grow 6.7 per cent annually until 2015 and KSA is expected to host to almost 10 million additional visitors over the next four years.
