On Wednesday morning polling centers opened in the first day of the run-off for the second phase of parliamentary elections. In this phase election will be held in nine governorates namely, Giza, Ismailia, Suez, Beni Suef, Aswan, Sharkia, Menoufia, Biheira and Sohag. In the run-off elections will be held today at thirty constituencies of individual system to choose fifty nine Member of Parliament out of 118 candidates competing on individual seats. Elections will be held also at three constituencies for parties' list; at the second constituency of Beheira, at the second constituency of Sohag, and at the first constituency of Menofia. This was based upon three court rulings to add parties' lists to voting cards in those constituencies less than twenty four hours before the first round. Therefore, elections for parties' lists were postponed in those constituencies to the run-off of the second phase. Elections are held under full judicial supervision, About 11.000 judges, prosecutors and members of different judicial bodies are supervising elections. Also, about 25.000 civil society organizations are monitoring the elections, in addition to 800 Arab and foreign organizations, and 1580 local and foreign media professionals.
