CAIRO: Angolan midfielder Gilberto has left Egyptian club giant al-Ahly, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) reported. The international footballer said he intends, however, to play in another championship in North Africa, but it is unclear where he will end up. Speculation is that he intends to make a transfer to Tunisia, but nothing has been substantiated yet. Gilberto has played for the Cairo-based giant for the past 8 seasons and had become one of the top international players to feature in the Egyptian domestic league. Without disclosing the name and the country of the club, the website of CAF also states that the Angolan international, “will always be remembered as one of the best foreign footballer that ever played in the Egyptian first division football championship.” The Angolan began his football career at Petro de Luanda in Angola and has won a number of titles in Egypt and Africa.
