(Others) – Egyptian giants Ahly and their coach Hossam El-Badry are competing for two of this year's awards from the African Football Confederation (CAF). African champions Ahly, Tunisia's Esperance, Congo's AC Léopards and Mali AC were shortlisted for the club of the year award, the CAF announced late Tuesday. Also, the Red Devils coach, El-Badry, will be competing for the coach of the year award alongside Zambia's Herve Renard, Esperance's Nabil Maaloul and Nasreddine Nabi of Tunisia's AC Léopards. Egypt and Basel's talented forward Mohamed Salah was placed on a three-man shortlist for the most promising talent award for 2012. Earlier last week, the CAF announced that Ahly's playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika had made the three-man shortlist for the 2012 best African-based player award. The 2012 awards gala will be held on Dec. 20 at the Banquet Hall, State House, Accra.
