African champions Ahli and manager Hossam Al-Badri are nominated in the Glo-CAF Awards shortlist for Club of the Year and Manager of the Year respectively. Ahli, who have recently been crowned with the CAF Champions League title, are firm favorites for the annual gong as they compete with losing finalists Esperance. The other two clubs in the four-team list are Confederation Cup winners Leopards of Congo and runners-up Djoliba of Mali. Coach Al-Badri, who guided Ahli to their seventh Champions League title, vies with Esperance boss Nabil Maaloul, Frenchman Herve Renard (Zambia) and Nasreddine Nabi of Leopards. Al-Badri is the third Egyptian in CAF's award shortlists this year, with Egypt duo Mohamed Abou-Treika and Mohamed Salah also included. Ahli veteran Abou-Treika is one of three men nominated for the Player of the Year (based in Africa) award, while Basel's Salah is tipped for the Most Promising Talented of the Year title.
