Arab nations were the largest importers of Egyptian food products in the first half of 2025, accounting for $1.89 billion or 47 per cent of total exports, despite a three per cent decline in value, a report from the Food Export Council (FEC) said on Sunday. The European Union followed with $870 million, non-Arab African countries imported $298 million, and the United States with $274 million in imports. Other international markets accounted for $694 million, the report added. Saudi Arabia was the leading importer with $303 million, followed by the US $274 million, Sudan $198 million, Libya $181 million, and Jordan $160 million.
