Egypt's Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbiny inaugurated on Monday a new cultural centre in New Cairo, located in the green zone of the First Settlement service hub. The centre will serve as a platform for cultural activities, including competitions in painting, music, reading, and community dialogue, as well as Quran recitation contests. Officials said the facility will soon begin screening documentaries on Egypt's civilisation and regional role. Cooperation with Misr Public Library is also planned to provide books and stories, particularly during summer breaks, to encourage students to read. Built on a total area of 3,631 square metres, the centre includes a reception hall, administrative offices, meeting rooms, green spaces, parking, and security facilities. The project emphasises high-quality finishes, landscaping, and urban coordination to offer residents a safe and attractive environment. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
