Egypt's Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif held talks with Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Fujii Hisayuki on strengthening bilateral cooperation in developing pre-university education, on the sidelines of the The Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), the Cabinet said on Thursday. Abdel Latif said Egypt regards its partnership with Japan as a model for advancing education, particularly in technical and technological fields, and in building students' skills in line with Egypt's vision for human development. He highlighted fruitful partnerships with Japanese educational institutions, including training programmes for students and teachers, as well as curriculum development initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education. The minister added that these collaborations contribute to raising efficiency in Egypt's education system and represent an important channel for knowledge exchange, as stated in the release. For his part, Hisayuki praised the cooperation between the two countries and reaffirmed Japan's commitment to supporting Egypt's education sector by providing technical expertise and capacity-building assistance. Both sides also discussed ways to deepen existing partnerships with Japanese institutions, ensuring that Egypt continues to benefit from Japan's leading expertise in education, according to the statement.
