Egypt's Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif met with members of the Japan-African Union (AU) Parliamentary Friendship League to explore ways of strengthening cooperation in education, the Cabinet said Wednesday. On the sidelines of the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) Yokohama, the talks centred on knowledge exchange and capacity-building, with Abdel Latif stressing Egypt's efforts to expand general, technical and special needs education while building stronger partnerships with Japan. The minister highlighted the application of Japan's Tokkatsu activities in Egyptian-Japanese schools, saying the approach has helped develop students' life skills and personal growth. He also presented Egypt's Applied Technology Schools model, describing it as a successful framework that links education with labour market needs and produces graduates with specialised skills.
