Egypt's Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif met with JICA Vice President Imoto Sachiko to discuss expanding the Egyptian-Japanese Schools project and preparing for the upcoming TICAD in Tokyo on 20-22 August. Abdel Latif stressed the significance of the partnership between Egypt's Ministry of Education and JICA, describing it as a successful model of international cooperation in education reform, as per a Cabinet statement on Tuesday. He highlighted the success of the Egyptian-Japanese Schools, which blend Egypt's educational system with Japan's Tokkatsu practices to develop student character through group activities, discipline, and responsibility. The meeting reviewed progress on the project, with 15 new schools set to open in the 2025/2026 academic year. The expansion aims to further embed values of active learning, teamwork, and discipline in Egypt's school system.
