Egypt's Drug Authority (EDA) and the country's ambassador to Cameroon discussed ways to expand cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector during a virtual meeting, the Cabinet said on Thursday. The talks, led by EDA head Ali El-Ghamrawy and Ambassador Marwa Hegazy, focused on regulatory capacity building, exchanging expertise and encouraging joint investment to improve access to safe, high-quality medicines in both countries. El-Ghamrawy said Egypt was committed to strengthening African partnerships in pharmaceuticals, noting the continent's strategic importance and Egypt's readiness to provide technical support and training. Cooperation with Cameroon, he said, was a step toward regional integration and boosting Egypt's global competitiveness in the drug industry. Hegazy praised Egypt's pharmaceutical expertise and voiced interest in expanding training and joint projects to support Africa's broader pharmaceutical sector.
