Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) head Ali El-Ghamrawy met with Egypt's newly appointed Ambassador to Zimbabwe Maha Serag to explore avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, the Cabinet said on Thursday. The meeting aims to strengthen Egypt-Zimbabwe relations, building on the successful cooperation between the EDA and the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) under an MoU, which is viewed as a successful model of regionally supported international cooperation El-Ghamrawy reiterated EDA's vow to provide ongoing technical and regulatory support to help Egyptian pharmaceutical products access African markets, boosting exports and enhancing local industry competitiveness continent-wide. Serag praised the efforts of the EDA in supporting African pharmaceutical integration and expressed the embassy's readiness to cooperate closely with the authority, as stated in the release. The engagement reflects EDA's strategic focus on expanding regional partnerships and promoting pharmaceutical exports to African markets in alignment with Egypt's broader industrial localisation and export diversification goals.
