UK economy grew by 0.3 per cent in the second quarter of 2025 (Apr to June), slowing from 0.7 per cent in the first quarter (Jan to Mar), but outperforming the Bank of England's forecast for 0.1 per cent growth, according to data released from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Thursday. GDP rose 0.4 per cent in June, with all three main sectors expanding, following a 0.1 per cent fall in May and a revised 0.1 per cent drop in April. Compared with the same quarter a year earlier, GDP was up 1.2 per cent. Services grew 0.4 per cent in the quarter, and construction rose 1.2 per cent, while production contracted 0.3 per cent.
