Egypt's annual inflation rate for the whole republic recorded 13.1 per cent in July 2025 compared to 14.4 per cent in June, while the monthly rate decreased by 0.6 per cent as the General Consumer Price Index (CPI) reached 256.5 points, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) report issued on Sunday. Monthly, meat and poultry prices fell by 4.9 per cent, fruit by 11 per cent, vegetables by 7 per cent, and personal effects by 0.5 per cent. Meanwhile, prices increased for cereals and bread by (0.4 per cent), fish and seafood by (0.2 per cent),dairy, cheese and eggs by (0.2 per cent), oils and fats by (0.1 per cent), sugar and sugary foods by (0.2 per cent), coffee, tea and cocoa by (0.2 per cent), mineral water, carbonated water and natural juices by (0.8 per cent).
On an annual basis, healthcare by 37.7 per cent, transport by 34.8 per cent, and electricity, gas and fuels by 43.6 per cent, while meat and poultry fell by 1.3 per cent and vegetables by 15.4 per cent. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
