Egypt has not yet decided whether to raise fuel prices, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Tuesday, adding that inflation is projected to fall to around 8 percent in the second half of 2026. Madbouly's remarks come as the government balances fiscal consolidation with efforts to contain living costs amid a gradual cooling of inflation and ongoing economic reforms backed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
