Asia-Pacific markets saw gains following US President Donald Trump's announcement of increased tariffs on Indian exports to the US. The Nifty 50 index fell by 0.42 per cent and the BSE Sensex dropped by 0.31 per cent. The Indian rupee depreciated by 0.15 per cent against the US dollar to 87.792. Stocks in Mainland China and Hong Kong slightly increased, following the upward trend in the region.
