Egypt's National Railways Authority has introduced a special train service to facilitate the voluntary return of Sudanese nationals, demonstrating Egypt's support for the Sudanese community during difficult times, the Cabinet said. Train No. 1940 (air-conditioned / third-class) will depart from Cairo Station at 11:00 am on Monday, July 28, 2025, and is scheduled to arrive at the High Dam Station in Aswan at 11:40 p.m. The return trip, Train No. 1945, is scheduled to depart Aswan at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, arriving in Cairo at 9:25 a.m. the following morning. The train will be equipped with an additional luggage carriage to ensure convenience and comfort by accommodating the personal belongings of Sudanese passengers, according to the announcement. The authority emphasised Egypt's longstanding historical ties with Sudan and its humanitarian commitment to neighbouring nations, particularly during times of need, as stated in the statement. It reiterated its commitment to providing continued assistance for Sudanese nationals, expressing hope for their safe and honourable return home, in light of the shared destiny between the peoples of the Nile Valley.
