Egypt's National Railway Authority has run a special train service on July 21, 2025, to assist Sudanese nationals and their families living in Egypt to return home voluntarily, in line with national efforts to support Sudanese citizens. Trip No. 1940 (third-class air-conditioned) departed Cairo at 11:00 AM on Monday and is scheduled to arrive in Aswan at 11:00 PM. The return trip, No. 1945, for general passengers, is scheduled to depart Aswan at 7:50 AM on Tuesday, July 22, and arrive in Cairo at 9:50 PM. The initiative reflects the strong fraternal ties between Egypt and the Sudan and is part of the government's broader humanitarian and social support strategy. It is also in line with the Ministry of Transport's initiatives to facilitate the return of Sudanese citizens to Sudan through the High Dam River Port in Aswan.
