Egypt's National Council for Women Chairperson Counselor Amal Ammar has been named one of the country's most influential women for 2024 by the Top 50 Women Forum, according to a statement from the council Monday. The recognition was presented during a visit by forum founder Dina Abdel Fattah to the council's headquarters in Cairo. The delegation included forum Managing Director Nermeen Abdel Fattah and Public Relations Director Nevine Hassib. Ammar welcomed the award, expressing pride in being recognised for her role in championing women's rights and leadership. She also praised the forum's efforts to elevate Egyptian women in both the public and private sectors. Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration to support female empowerment, foster leadership across generations, and showcase successful women as role models. The 2024 honourees were selected through a joint survey conducted by the Top 50 Women Forum in partnership with Amwal Al Ghad Magazine and Exlnt Communications, both part of United Media Services (UMS).
