Egypt c.bank, NCW, Amwal Al Ghad launch First Women Mentorship Programme
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 23 - 10 - 2017

Magazine, the founder of Top 50 Women Forum, signed Sunday an agreement with the National Council for Women (NCW) and Egypt's Central Bank to launch Women Leadership Development Mentorship programme.
This is the first deal of its kind signed between public and private institutions, that aimed at developing women holistically for the future professionally, individually, and spiritually to excel in all political, economic, and social fields.
The three parties stood in silence for a minute before signing the agreement to remember the 16 Egyptian security forces killed by militants on Friday.
The forum includes the top fifty of the most influential women in Egypt that were ranked in The Top 50 Annual Ceremony organised by Amwal Al Ghad Magazine last January 27th under the patronage of the Egyptian Prime Ministry. Amwal Al Ghad Magazine founded Top 50 Forum in 2016 as the first think tank in Egypt.
New Generations
The programme is a significant positive step towards an economic empowerment for women and preparing a new generation of distinguished women capable of making a real change locally and globally, Maya Morsy, Head of Egypt's National Council for Women, said.
The agreement comes in line with Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's invitation of launching the Egyptian Woman Year, 2017 as well as 2030 strategy of empowering the woman in many sectors.
Ahli United Bank-Egypt strongly supports the new programme that advocates all women to build a better future for Egypt, coming out with new generations capable of making a real change, chief officer Nevine El-Messeery said.
CBE's hopes for higher Percentage of Women in Leadership
Lobna Helal, CBE's Deputy Governor and member of Top 50 Women Forum, said the programme is set to witness the top 50 mentors, who represent the largest private and governmental associations in Egypt, upgrading the trainees' abilities to be reliable leaders in the future.
The central bank plans to double the number of women in all leadership positions in banking industry, a step that will help have second and third generations of influential female bankers in the country, Helal added.
She further said she was in the process of making a list of percentage of influential women in senior roles.
Women make up 25 percent of senior roles in banks operating in the country, and around 30 percent of leadership roles in financial institutions, Helal said.
Women also make up 70 percent of various positions in Egyptian banks, she noted.
Cultural Dimension
Meanwhile, Moushira Khattab, former Minister of Family and Population, said the programme has a cultural dimension that insures the Egyptian heritage as a country that stands for peace, equality, and justice.
The Programme
Dina Abdel Fattah, Editor Chief of Amwal Al Ghad Magazine and founder of Top 50 Women Forum, said the programme targets preparing women cadres that are capable of leading various sectors in the country.
It will witness the top 50 mentors, who represent the largest private and governmental associations in Egypt, upgrading the trainees' abilities to be reliable leaders and decision makers in the future, Abdel Fattah added.
The upcoming annual Top 50 Annual Ceremony, due next January, will witness the launch of the first phase of the programme. During the anticipated forum, there will be interactive sessions aimed to highlight the best leadership practices for Egyptian women over the past few years in order to create an ambitious vision for the future, Abdel Fattah stated.
