Egypt's Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with representatives from Johnson & Johnson (J&J) in Egypt to explore ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector, as per the ministry's announcement on Monday. The meeting centred on key joint priorities, including support for continuous medical education at all levels, investment in capacity building for medical professionals, and enhancing Egypt's position in medical tourism. The two sides also discussed existing and potential cooperation in pharmaceuticals, including addressing drug shortages that the company could help mitigate. J&J reaffirmed its readiness to support the ministry's efforts to improve the healthcare system and patient care quality. The meeting discussed the cooperation protocol between J&J and the General Authority for Health Insurance, focusing on education, patient services, and research support, as stated in the release.
