Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib met on Wednesday with Russia's Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Roman Chekushov to discuss strengthening investment ties and expanding bilateral trade, according to a Cabinet statement. El Khatib reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to supporting Russian investors by offering incentives and improving the business climate, highlighting progress in the Russian Industrial Zone in Egypt, calling it a strategic step in deepening industrial and investment cooperation. The minister also emphasised Egypt's efforts to increase exports to Russia, particularly in agriculture and industry, while facilitating trade procedures. He pointed to the upcoming Egypt-Russia Business Forum in May as a platform to identify key economic sectors for cooperation. El Khatib noted that the free trade agreement between Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Union presents a valuable opportunity for expanding trade.
