Egypt's El Khatib talks investment with global firms in UAE
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 27 - 02 - 2025

Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El Khatib, held a high-level meeting with representatives from 50 multinational companies on the sidelines of his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to discuss investment opportunities, as per a Cabinet statement.
The discussions focused on Egypt's investment landscape and the government's ongoing efforts to enhance the business environment.
El Khatib outlined the economic and regulatory reforms Egypt is implementing, including fiscal, monetary, trade, and procedural policies, as well as adjustments to state ownership policies. These measures aim to streamline investment procedures, reduce customs clearance times and costs, and minimise bureaucratic hurdles for investors.
The minister reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to expanding private sector participation and attracting local and foreign investments through a sustainable and investor-friendly climate. He invited companies to explore expansion opportunities across Egypt's diverse productive and service sectors.
El Khatib also emphasised the importance of industrial and investment integration between Egypt and the UAE, particularly in light of current global economic challenges. Strengthening economic ties, he noted, would meet the needs of both markets and enhance export potential to regional and global destinations.
The minister highlighted Egypt's extensive network of trade agreements with major global economies, granting Egyptian products competitive advantages in African, European, American, Arab, and Turkish markets.
