Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 26 - 02 - 2025

Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with business representatives of Emirati companies to discuss economic policies, investment opportunities, and market components in Egypt, as per the ministry's report.
During his visit to the UAE, El-Khatib met with representatives from 20 Emirati companies and investors in a session organised by the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) in the UAE, in collaboration with the UAE International Investors Council.
El-Khatib reviewed the state's efforts to improve the investment climate and boost Egypt's foreign trade by implementing a series of financial, monetary, commercial, and procedural policy reforms. He also emphasised reforms in state ownership policy to facilitate investors and streamline import and export operations.
He outlined Egypt's potential to attract more local and foreign investments in various sectors due to its qualified workforce, proficient engineers, industrial lands, strategic location, and free trade agreements with regional and global economic blocs.
Furthermore, he noted the government's interest in attracting more Emirati investments to Egypt and utilising the various investment opportunities in mutually beneficial sectors. Both governments are working towards industrial integration to meet domestic market demands and enhance export potential.
El-Khatib discussed increasing Sky Abu Dhabi Real Estate Development Company's investments in Egypt due to the country's numerous investment opportunities that align with the company's focus.
He also met with a delegation from Smart Energy Company to discuss Egypt's plans to expand renewable energy projects and increase its energy sector contribution. Investment opportunities in Egypt's renewable energy field were also reviewed.
