Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly met with Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib to discuss recent international trips aimed at boosting foreign trade and investment in Egypt. El-Khatib reviewed his visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he led the Egyptian delegation at the fourth session of the Egypt-UAE Joint Economic Committee meetings, as per a Cabinet statement on Tuesday. He said that these discussions aimed to enhance economic cooperation in trade, investment, industry, innovation, renewable energy, agriculture, food security, transport, logistics, infrastructure, aviation, and maritime transport services. He noted that the tripled to the two sides agreeing to exchange expertise in establishing and managing industrial complexes and to encourage the private sector in both countries to form industrial partnerships in sectors of mutual interest. He also met with representatives from Emirati business community to outline Egypt's economic policies and highlight investment opportunities and advantages across various production and service sectors. He also said that he had discussions with representatives from 50 multinational companies, showcasing Egypt's investment landscape and the state's plans to improve the investment climate and enhance the role of the private sector. Additionally, El-Khatib met with officials from a global telecommunications company to review its current investments and future expansion plans in the Egyptian market, the statement added. He also updated the Prime Minister on the outcomes of his trip to Morocco, during which he held discussions with his Moroccan counterpart, to discuss opportunities for enhancing economic ties and boosting bilateral trade between the two countries. During the trip, the two ministers have agreed to host a Business-to-Business (B2B) forum in Cairo in April of this year, focusing on selected sectors to promote commercial partnerships and business networks between the private sectors of both countries.
